Emma McGuigan is Managing Director of the technology practice at Accenture in the UK and Ireland. Her work covers large scale systems development architecture and delivery management, and during her career with Accenture she has worked with clients on a number of large financial services programmes. Emma learned to code aged 13 and has been coding for the past 30 years.
Emma is passionate about encouraging more young women to pursue careers in technology and leads Accenture\’s work with \’Stemettes\’, a charity dedicated to increasing the number of women in STEM careers, for example by teaching young girls how to code. Emma also works with e-skills UK on the Information Economy Council to encourage the growth of the technology sector in the UK, and is a fellow of the British Computer Society.
Emma has been with Accenture for 20 years, joining the organisation after graduating with a Master’s degree in Electronics from the University of Edinburgh. Outside Accenture, Emma loves ski-ing, triathlons and spending time with family including her three children.
