Author, social commentator and director of The English Manner working with adults and children – Diana Mather is a fantastic broadcast expert because she has decades of experience being on TV as an Expert. Experience in the areas of etiquette, business men and business women, child delinquency and low self esteem, etiquette training for politicians particularly in Africa nowadays, people living in the Middle East wanting to do business with the West, employees, students, and royalty. She has seen a huge rise in wealthy families in China now, hiring her company’s services to teach their children British etiquette, so that they are trained to live in the West perhaps as students and do business with the West as adults.
Diana Mather has been working in TV and training since the 1980s and has a wealth of experience both on and off the screen. Trained as an actor, she appeared in series like Coronation Street before reading the news for BBC Northwest for over 10 years. Diana shows people how to keep their accents, but in a way that is more understood by people not from their region. Her firm helps business people improve their media relations, public speaking and corporate image and was the first organisation to help politicians improve their overall performance when the UK Parliament was first televised. In 2006 she recognised a niche in the market to help students and schoolchildren improve their manners and social skills. This led to the birth of the Public Image Finishing School to address the growing desire for girls and boys to become ‘young ladies and gentlemen.’
In 2013 Public Image merged with The English Manner to form The Etiquette Connection Ltd and since then the clientele has expanded to include professionals, business men and women, parents, students, young people and children from all over the world who want to learn Modern Manners, International Etiquette, Personal Branding, Dining Etiquette, Household Skills and Customer Care as well as Public Speaking, Media Relations and Job Interview Techniques.
Diana is a children’s author and author of books and literature about communication such as ‘The Secrets of Confident Communicators’.
Diana’s ancestors go back to Tudor times and beyond. Sir Thomas Linacre was a personal doctor to King Henry V111. He went on to tutor Edward V1 and start the Royal College of Physicians. Her great grandfather, Edward Weissmuller, was a courier at The Court of St James and was responsible for the Garter Mission to Japan at the end of the 19th century, as well as taking members of Royal families and the aristocracy on The Grand Tour. He was also one of the last people to stay at the court of Tsar Nicholas before the Russian revolution. The Etiquette Connection Ltd now has offices in China, India, California, Russia, UAE, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius and Tanzania.
