Over the past decade, Dr. Linda Papadopoulos is one of the most well-known psychologists on TV and radio today. She is an inspiring figurehead for women and girls, empowering them to be more than their looks, inspiring them with furthering their education, career and having personal interests. Her comments regarding the psychology behind news and current events are often syndicated by the press and discussed by both TV and radio networks both in the UK and the US including BBC News, ITV News, This Morning, ITV Daybreak, Channel 4 News, Sky News and radio news and many more. She was part of the original Channel 4 team on the reality TV phenomenon Big Brother and went on to host the Channel 5 shows Doctor Doctor and Double Cross. She has fronted factual segments on ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s The One Show and has also presented programmes and provided professional psychological commentary for numerous American and International television and radio networks including CNN, CBS, Discovery, CNBC, BBC International, VH1 and MTV to name a few.
As well as an accomplished academic career where she set up and headed successful post-graduate programmes, she is also an active researcher and was at one time one of the youngest Readers in the country based on her international academic publications. Her work has informed government policy, in 2010 she headed up a highly acclaimed independent review for the Home Office on the effects of sexualisation on young people. She was recently invited to present her research at the European Parliament in Brussles.
Dr. Linda is a Chartered Counselling and Health Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the BPS. She has worked in various treatment settings both privately, with her own practice and in the National Health Service. During her 14 years as a chartered psychologist, she has gained extensive experience in the counselling of individuals, couples and families. She was recently included in the Top 20 therapists in London by the Evening Standard newspaper and was awarded the Madame Figaro Women of the Year Award in 2008 in the field of academia.
Dr Linda has a prolific academic publication record and has published widely in peer reviewed academic journals. She has a specialist interest in body image and in the field of Psychodermatology where she has written extensively both for lay people and clinicians. She has written several academic and self-help books many of which have been translated into numerous languages, with her latest book What Men Say What Women Hear being published in 14 countries around the world. Dr. Linda is a contributing editor at Cosmopolitan magazine where she is a resident psychologist, her very popular monthly column has been running for 11 years now and much of her advice is often syndicated around the world. She also writes psychology and life style features for, and is also regularly quoted in, various national newspapers supplements and magazines.
Dr. Linda was course director at London Metropolitan University for years and she has written several books on teaching in psychology.
Linda runs her own beauty skincare business called LP.
